Terms of Use

The service

PodWalk generates audio walking tours for places you choose and plays narration as you reach each stop. Tours are created automatically using mapping data and AI-generated text and voice. Because the content is generated, it may contain inaccuracies — see “Accuracy and safety” below.

Your account

PodWalk automatically creates an account for you when you first open the app, so your tours, library, and progress can be saved without a sign-up. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and, where a sign-in method is offered, for keeping it secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use PodWalk.

Passes and purchases

PodWalk offers paid passes. Every pass is a one-time purchase: passes never auto-renew, nothing is charged again when a pass ends, and there is no subscription to cancel.

• Single Walk — valid for 24 hours; lets you generate 1 new walk.
• Week Pass — valid for 7 days; lets you generate up to 3 new walks.
• Year Pass — valid for 12 months; lets you generate up to 3 new walks in any rolling 7-day period.

While a pass is active you can also listen to any walk in the PodWalk catalog in full. Walks you generated yourself — and any walk you unlocked with a promotional free walk — remain fully playable in your library after your pass ends; other catalog walks return to preview until you hold an active pass again. Buying a further pass extends your access.

Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase. The exact price is shown in the app at the point of purchase and may vary by region. Passes are tied to your PodWalk account, follow you across reinstalls and devices, and are for your personal use — they may not be shared or resold. To keep the service fair and secure, walk generation is subject to reasonable technical limits (such as the per-pass allowances above and rate limits that prevent automated abuse).

Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple, and purchases made through Google Play by Google, in accordance with their policies. Because a pass gives you immediate access to digital content, you consent to that immediate performance when you buy; this does not affect your statutory rights under mandatory Dutch or EU consumer law.

Free and promotional walks

We may offer promotions from time to time, such as a first walk free of charge. Promotions are limited to one per person and account unless stated otherwise, may be changed or withdrawn at any time, and have no cash value. A walk you have already unlocked through a promotion stays yours even if the promotion ends.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use PodWalk for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• copy, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit generated tour content except as permitted for your own personal use;
• circumvent or attempt to circumvent purchase requirements, generation allowances, or other technical limits;
• attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or place unreasonable load on the app, the website, or our infrastructure; or
• use PodWalk in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Content and intellectual property

The app, the website, our branding, and the software behind them are owned by us and our licensors. Map and points-of-interest data are provided by third parties, including OpenStreetMap contributors and Mapbox, under their respective licences. Generated tours are provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

Accuracy and safety

PodWalk’s routes and narration are generated automatically and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Use your own judgement while walking: obey traffic and local laws, stay aware of your surroundings, and do not rely on the app for navigation in hazardous conditions. PodWalk is provided for informational and entertainment purposes and is not a substitute for official maps, signage, or local guidance.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

PodWalk is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from your reliance on generated content or from your conduct while walking. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Dutch or EU law.

Termination

You may stop using PodWalk and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use PodWalk in a way that harms the service or other users.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
