How PodWalk writes a walking tour for anywhere on Earth

Most audio-tour apps ship a fixed catalogue: a few dozen famous cities, each tour recorded once by a studio and frozen in place. PodWalk works the other way around. You type a place — any place — and it writes the walk on demand, usually in about a minute. Here is what happens in that minute.
1. It plots a real route
Before a single word is written, PodWalk reads the map. It looks at the streets, the landmarks, and the points of interest around the place you named, then plots a walking route that actually makes sense on foot — a loop you can follow without doubling back or crossing a motorway. Each stop is placed a few minutes’ walk from the last.
2. It researches each stop
For every stop on the route, PodWalk gathers what’s known about the spot: its history, its architecture, the people who passed through, the small details a guidebook skips. It doesn’t depend on someone having already written a tour for the place — it assembles the story itself, which is why it works just as well for a back-road village as for a capital city.
3. It writes the narration
The research becomes a script: a warm, spoken-word narration for each stop, written to be listened to while you walk rather than read off a sign. You can steer it, too — pick the length (anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes) and the themes you care about, whether that’s history, architecture, hidden gems, or food.
4. It gives the tour a voice
Finally, the script is turned into audio in a natural-sounding voice, in the language you chose. The finished walk lands in your library, ready to download for offline use — and when you arrive at each stop, its narration starts playing automatically, even with your phone locked in your pocket.
